BHOPAL, July 9, 2026 — Harshita Sahu, a 23-year-old from Ruthiyai in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district, has been named Miss Universe Madhya Pradesh 2026 after winning the state audition, securing a place among the national finalists for Miss Universe India 2026, according to organiser Glamanand Entertainment. The national round is scheduled for July.

The state audition is part of the selection structure run by Glamanand Entertainment, which has held the national franchise for Miss Universe India since February 2024 and channels state winners into the national finale.

Selection and jury

According to the organiser's release, Sahu emerged as the winner of the Madhya Pradesh state audition, held in the state capital, ahead of other contestants. The release named the jury as Nikhil Anand, National Director and franchise holder of Miss Universe India via Glamanand Entertainment; Amjad Khan, described as a director with the organisation; and Manika Vishwakarma, whom the release identified as Miss Universe India 2025.

The contestant's profile

The organiser describes Sahu as a computer science graduate who works as a data analyst at a multinational bank. In a statement issued through the organiser, she said her background had not limited her ambitions.

"Coming from a small town has never limited my dreams," Sahu said in the release. "I believe education, determination, and consistent effort can open doors for anyone. I hope my journey inspires young women from every corner of India to believe in themselves."

The release adds that Sahu has undertaken pageant training and personality development ahead of the national round. It also states that she has supported non-profit initiatives, a claim attributed to the subject's team and not independently confirmed by Sangri Today.

Sahu is listed among the state winners set to compete at the Miss Universe India 2026 national finale, where the national titleholder goes on to represent India at the international Miss Universe pageant. Further details on the national event are expected from the organiser.
